I was thrilled when I saw this book on the stands years ago! I've reread it many times since then. It's a fantastic look into Saavik's history, building on Vonda McIntrye's premise in the ST II and ST III novelizations, and going much more in depth for this wonderful character. Now with the chapter in "Enterprise Logs" dedicated to Spock and Saavik's relationship and the novel "Vulcan Heart", "The Pandora Principle" is becoming the historical reference for this character. And it deserves it. Filled with humor, adventure, and touching moments, it's a great read. It's a real shame it's out of print since with the two above stories out, fans might be trying to pick up this book as well. Search your paperback exchanges and libraries; you won't regret it.

This book was very nice for its age.
One of the best pocket books I ever read , This book I recommend this book for any Star Trek TOS fan
Well written book. Good story
Pretty good for a quick read; don't expect anything earth-shaking, and you'll like it.
Great story about the love between Saavik and Spock. Also gives inside look at life on Romulus
Great classic Trek. I always thought Saavik should have been in The Undiscovered Country film. It was good to see this character develop. Clowes' dialogue sounds like the characters portrayed in the film.
I became a fan of the Original Series (show and films) earlier this year, and Saavik quickly became, after Uhura, my favorite Trek heroine. This book really satisfied my curiosity about her--and it is WONDERFUL. It's incredibly well-written. It shows a softer side to Spock than the one we normally see, the political intrigue keeps you guessing, and Saavik is an endearing, intriguing protagonist. So glad I read this book...it's the best novel I've read in a long time.
